Spring Gardening Day
Have you seen the tulips popping up on the east side of Coe? That is thanks to the people who participated in the fall gardening day. Now is your chance to garden alongside your kids and point out all the flowers you planted (and weeds you pulled) for months to come. Help keep our grounds beautiful and volunteer at the Spring Gardening Day.
Why do we do this? SPS has a limited grounds crew so maintaining our beautiful school gardens is a community effort.
What should I bring? Water, snacks, gardening gloves if you have them, and wear clothes that can get dirty. We will provide everything else (including a limited supply of gardening gloves).
Do I need to stay the entire time? No, we’re glad to have you for any amount of time.
See you there!

Fall Fund Drive Ends
YOUR GENEROSITY BRIDGES THE GAP
Did you know that due to Seattle Public Schools funding shortfalls, critical resources for Coe students are not fully funded? This includes reading specialists, academic tutors, librarian time and more!
One of our biggest fundraisers of the year, proceeds from the Fall Fund Drive support our school’s PTA Staffing Grant, which bridges that gap and we can’t do it without you!
With your generous support and a suggested donation of $250 per family, we can meet our $82,000 fundraising goal to fund vital educational resources for our school.
A meaningful contribution in any amount is greatly appreciated.
We are proud of Coe’s longstanding commitment to fundraise for historically underfunded PTAs at community schools. As part of our 2023 Fall Fund Drive, we are excited to support the Licton Springs K-8 PTO in their fundraising efforts. Located in Ballard, Licton Springs has a Native-centered curriculum with a focus on social justice and equity. Please consider also donating to this community gem in support of their priority initiatives.
Does your employer offer charitable matching? Be sure to take advantage of your employer’s charitable gift matching program to double or triple your donation - and your impact! - for our Coe community.

Coe-zy Coat Drive
Donate to the Coe-zy Coat Drive now through Friday, October 27. We are collecting new or excellent condition outerwear benefiting Licton-Springs, where almost half the students are on free and reduced lunch. Coats can be dropped off in the box outside the school main entry.
Parent Education Survey Due!
We have received interest for parent/caregiver educational resources and how to reinforce social emotional learning at home. To better understand this need, we are collecting input on which topics and formats would be most beneficial. Provide your confidential input at the Coe PTA parent education survey by Friday, October 20.
Volunteer with the PTA
Our PTA runs on volunteers, and there are plenty of ways to be involved via a variety of committees and events. We welcome any time commitment that is possible to you and your family. The best way to stay up to date with monthly volunteer opportunities, no matter how big or small, is to join as a PTA member, as we will send out emails with regular volunteer asks to our membership. In addition, we also run regular communications to the entire school in the weekly Wednesday Coe Bulletin - don’t forget to scroll down to catch the PTA section!
Please email president.coepta@gmail.com with any questions.
