Current Volunteer Opportunities

  • Monster Mash 2024 Volunteers

We’re thrilled to welcome back the Monster Mash once again this year on Friday, October 25th!

To make the event a success, we need your help! We are looking for volunteers to help with decorating, set-up, clean-up, and to work a shift (or two) at the event running games, crafts, selling bake sale items, and more!

We'd love for the kids to be involved, so sign up with your Coe student(s)! All proceeds from this event support the Coe PTA.

  • Monster Mash Bake Sale Treats & Cakes

Calling all Bakers (Or folks who know how to stop by Safeway, QFC, or their favorite local bakery)

As in years past, we will have a BAKE SALE for quick, tasty treats during the Monster Mash. Have some creepy cookies? Beastly bars? Monstrous munchies? Petrifying pretzel treats? We want them all! Home-made or store-bought works!

Check out the signup below and let us know how you can help! We encourage you to have fun with this, bake with your Coe student(s), and dream up a ghoulish and terrifying treat. We can't wait to see your frighteningly delicious creations! No nuts please. We would love to have a few gluten-free and dairy-free options to add to the mix as well.

  • Gardening Day

Help keep Coe grounds beautiful! Come volunteer on Saturday, October 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to pull weeds, plant flowers and shrubs, and mulch planter boxes. All ages welcome. Sign up list coming soon.

SPS has a limited grounds crew so maintaining our beautiful school gardens is a community effort. Please bring water, snacks, your own gardening gloves if you have them, and wear clothes that can get dirty. We will provide everything else (including a limited supply of gardening gloves). You do not need to stay the entire time; we’re glad to have you for any amount of time.

  • POPCORN FRIDAYS!

We are thrilled to be bringing back Popcorn Friday's this year! In order to make Popcorn Friday's happen we need 3 volunteers every week - to pop the popcorn and sell popcorn and treats. It's a fun, easy and festive way to volunteer and bring happiness to the students every week! :)

NEW this year - 5th grade students can volunteer with their caregivers! We need 2 adults but can have 1 student also join every week. This is a great way for the 5th graders to volunteer hands on to help raise money for their Islandwood trip!

More info and sign up can be found by clicking the button below!

About Volunteering

Our PTA runs on volunteers, and there are plenty of ways to be involved via a variety of committees and events. We welcome any time commitment that is possible to you and your family. The best way to stay up to date with monthly volunteer opportunities, no matter how big or small, is to check out the Current Volunteer Opportunities page on our website. PTA members will also receive regular emails with volunteer asks throughout the year. In addition, we run regular communications to the entire school in the weekly Wednesday Coe Bulletin - don’t forget to scroll down to catch the PTA section! Please email president@coepta.org with any questions.

Looking to volunteer in your child’s classroom? The school, not the PTA, runs this effort –please reach out to ldloewe@seattleschools.org for information about the volunteer approval process.
